Hi, I’m Louisa.

I am a…

  • Registered Clinical Psychologist

  • Researcher

  • Repurposing & thrifting enthusiast

As a researcher, I collaborate with autistic adults to learn more about masking and co-develop autism-affirming programs.

As a Clinical Psychologist, I support autistic youth and adults in identifying their social, sensorimotor and mental health profile and building skills and self-advocacy based on what’s most important to them.

Here, you can find helpful resources for autistic youth & adults, their loved ones and supporting clinicians.

Mission

Closing the double empathy gap.

The double empathy gap describes that there are differences in communication and mutual understanding between autistic + non-autistic pairs, meaning:

  • Autistic individuals understand autistic individuals well

  • Non-autistic individuals understand non-autistic individuals well.

  • Autistic and non-autistic pairs have more difficulties understanding each other.

Masking describes the efforts that autistic people use to make non-autistic people feel at ease.

Across research, clinical care and community resources, it’s important to me to:

  • Empower and support autistic youth & adults in their self-advocacy, build a sense of agency, while balancing ample rest and recuperation

  • Tackle stigma and discrimination that autistic youth & adults may face, provide education and training to meet autistic needs across contexts
